Who are you?
Hi, my name is Heather! I've been married longer than my own parents were married, I was born to be a mother, and I suffer from Housework Avoidance Syndrome. I've had many adventures in my life which include living on a commune, foreign travel on a shoestring, wearing a business suit while running an office for several years, and some other things you'll enjoy discovering through the Flashback Friday posts.
As you've probably surmised from surfing my blog, I enjoy photography, gardening, the great outdoors, being with my family, and volunteering.
What is this blog about?
This blog is partly a diary of our days, a place for me to share my feelings on all manner of subjects, a destination for family and friends trying to keep up with us, and a spot for me to share tutorials and inspiration with internet friends new and old.
When did you start blogging?
Although I'd been using the internet for years through work, I logged on from home for the first time in February 2001, and started a blog through Geocities (now defunct) shortly thereafter. I also did online publishing through Themestream.com (also no longer around) where I got paid to write and had a large following of readers. The sudden demise of both of those sites, and the subsequent loss of all my readers and my writings (that I had not backed up), really woke me up to the impermanence of one's presence on the Internet.
What kind of Camera do you use?
My main camera is a Nikon D80 that I've had for years. It's been a real workhorse and I've shot over 80,000 images with it in all sorts of conditions. I use a Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II lens most of the time, and a 50mm prime lens for special projects.
We also have 2 compact cameras. A Canon Powershot that is several years old and has survived going overboard during a river rafting trip, and a Nikon that is fun to use but does not produce photos as crisp as the Canon.
What kind of computer do you use?
I'm in the process of dumping my PC for an Apple Mac. Breakups can be hard however, becasue I'm used to using PhotoshopCS on my PC, and I don't want to shell out $700. for a new version that runs on a Mac. I'm not a photoshop addict, and I suppose I could live without it, or try to learn Apple's Aperature, but I just haven't made up my mind yet.
I've lived all over, and wherever I am, I like to consider it home. There was a time in my life when I moved constantly, and the first thing I'd do when I pulled into a new town was go to the library and apply for a library card. Then, I'd try to meet the "old-timers" and learn about the community from them. Currently I call the Pacific Northwest in Washington State home. We'll be hitting the road again soon and are looking at different communities to settle in and call home. Your suggestions for our next chapter are welcome!
Can I use your photos?
I'm flattered! You are welcome to link to my blog, and share my blog. However, please don't take any of my photos or content without asking and receiving my permission first. I appreciate it!
Heather, I frequently check your blog, love reading about you and your family's adventures...hope everything is ok as you haven't posted in a while!

Heather I see you have a SIMO baby Pram. By any chance do you have a owners manual for it? I purchased a SIMO Pram at a yard sale, and it a bit over whelming for the assembly.
Any assistance is appreciated.
Thanks
