In Memory of Serengeti & Maxine

In unpacking the Christmas decorations I found this stocking I'd hung every year since I made it in 1989, my second Christmas with my kitties, Serengeti and Maxine.  I was a nanny that year and the 9 year old girl I cared for made Maxine's stocking and I made Serengeti's.  Finding the stockings was a bittersweet reminder that Maxine and Serengeti passed away last August.  Although we have other kitties in our home now, I will always miss Maxine and Serengeti.

Flashback Friday -- this is where I began

Here I am, all wrapped up, coming home from the hospital where I was born.  When my parents married my mom was a virgin and my dad was going down the aisle for the 3rd time.   They looked to be a stunning couple, but even before I arrived there was trouble brewing.  I was just the little screaming nail in the coffin, I suppose.
